STEAMPUNK DROP SPINDLE No.104 - Yin-Yang and Jewels:

This spindle uses a large 1940's Westclox pocket watch dial that has seen some wear. The Yin-Yang design is a commercial art acetate transfer that is applied to the surface of the dial and has a Steampunk Design using antique and vintage watch gears, drive wheels, Spring levers, and ruby watch jewels - all covered with two thick layers of epoxy resin. The dial is mounted onto a 2" acrylic whorl and there are 64 iridescent Swarovski AB crystal rhinestones adorning dial and the perimeter of the dial (mounted on the acrylic whorl). There's a large 1.75" clock gear added the bottom side for stabilization and good rim weight.

SPECIFICATIONS: 1.1 ounce (33 grams) - Acrylic whorl 1/8” x 2” (3.2mm x 5.1cm) - Shaft: 3/32” dia. x 8.75" (22.2cm) in Black-Gold

The WHORL is made from a laser cut acrylic disc that I've edge milled and polished to soften the edges. The SHAFT is made from high carbon (spring) steel with a forged hook that has a 2-part powder coat paint finish applied for a beautiful look and feel. The, the dial, and gold plated findings, antique clock gear and other clock components (bottom side) are assembled with an industrial 2-part epoxy glue.
