This top whorl drop spindle uses a large and heavy antique clock gear from a Made in US 1880 clock and combines antique to vintage (1880's to 1970's) wrist-watch and pocket-watch gears, springs, latches, screws, and ruby jewels. There are also 12 Topaz AB color Swarovski Crystal Rhinestones set into the symmetrical design. The entire top side of the acrylic whorl and Steampunk design is coated in two thick layers of satin epoxy resin for a durable and gorgeous finished look. The back is is coarse sanded (to allow for maximum paint bonding) and painted in a metallic blue enamel paint - and attached, is a 1" gold plated cap bead and other jewelry components to add stability to the whorl - and there are 6 Topaz AB color iridescent Swarovski crystal rhinestones tucked inside the cap.

The WHORL is made from a laser cut acrylic disc that I've edge milled and polished to soften the edges. The shaft is made from high carbon (spring) steel with a forged hook that has a 2-part powder coat paint finish applied for a beautiful look and feel.  All components are assembled with an industrial 2-part epoxy glue.
