Steampunk Necklace Pendant No.3
2-sided (Movement side/Dial side) Pendant only - DOES NOT INCLUDE CHAIN

This pendant is 2.2" (55mm) tall (including bail) x 1.7" (43mm) wide x .5" thick (12mm) - and weighs 1.4 ounce (41 grams)

Made from a Re-purposed 17th century Verge Fusee pocket watch main plate and components that was fabricated by William Thompson of London, England - dating between 1670 and 1695.

This is the oldest, most rare, and historically important Verge Fusee that I have ever acquired. It is an ornately hand carved and hand pierced early Verge Fusee pocket watch main-plate and components. This watch was made by William Thomas of London, a student of an early watch making master, who apprenticed Thompson and many others who went on to become master watchmakers themselves, Thomas Tompion.

I fully disassemble what you see here - then polished up the otherwise (fairly) dull 320+ year old brass, re-assembled the balance cock which had broken in two, then added a thin polished and colored plate beneath it to help give it depth. I drill out the holes where pillars and pins are now missing, colored the main plate with a clear epoxy color, then added Swarovski crystals to the holes before re-assembling and coating the finished piece with smooth and clear epoxy resin which preserves the shine and beauty and eliminates the chance of clothes and hair from snagging in the pendant.. The plate and dial (reverse side) are mounted to a 1/16" thick acrylic disc that has been cut out to fit the gold plated bail inside - thus the bail is a permanent part of the pendant that will never come undone.

The delicate and hand-painted dial on the back side is not original to this movement plate, but is also rare and correct for the period. I've added the hand post into the middle of the dial along with a set of (period correct) 18kt gold hands, along with 13 Swarovski crystal rhinestones that and coated it all in two thick layers of epoxy resin.
