Antique Timepiece (STEAMPUNK) Style Tahkli Support Spindle No.68 - One-of-a-Kind - FREE SHIPPING
Antique Timepiece (Steampunk) - ONE OF A KIND, HEAVY WEIGHT - Tahkli Style Support Spindle No.68
A timeworn and semi-rare find of a Military Pocket Watch Dial, made in Germany (Circa 1940) by THIEL Watch Company, is the centerpiece of this Tahkli style support spindle. It is adorned with a commercial art acetate transfer image of a lovely and vibrant hummingbird, along with vintage and antique watch gears and wheels, and 14 Swarovski crystal rhinestones - all coated with clear epoxy resin for a lifetime finish. It is mounted to a 1.55" (39.5mm) steel whorl and has an vintage brass clock gear with an assortment of Swarovski crystals and vintage and antique winding wheels, gears, and screws on the bottom side that are arranged to assist in perfectly balancing this spindle. All components are mounted to one of my signature (Metallic Hot Magenta colored) steel shafts. This makes one very unique, and one of the most time consuming assemblies that I've done - and this heavy weight support spindle has an amazing spin that will work on pretty much any fiber you can whirl on it :-).
WEIGHT/DIMENSIONS: 2.0 oz. (58g), Whorl dia. 1.55” x 8.5" Length (39.5mm x 21.6cm). This is the Larger Diameter of the 2 Shaft sizes that I make = .137" (3.5mm) in METALLIC HOT MAGENTA
The shaft is made from spring steel with a heat forged hook and is colored with a 2-coat hi-temperature powder-coat paint. Dial is coated with 2 extra thick layers of epoxy and all parts are mounted with industrial 2-part epoxy.
