A Stunningly beautiful example of old world craftsmanship that's been repurposed into an heirloom piece of jewelry. The centerpiece of this necklace pendant is the complete upper plate of a circa 1840 English Verge Fusee pocket watch movement - with its intricately hand carved/pierced filigree design and unique features, such as the hand pointing at the speed adjust plate and the Grotesque Mask on the balance cock (part that covers/is a pivot point for the balance wheel). The plate is disassembled and each component is painstakingly polished, metallic foil added underneath the filigree parts, re-assembled, crystals added, then coated in a thick layer of epoxy resin for a no-snag, smooth, and long life finish.

The finished upper plate is mounted to a 1/16" acrylic disc, which has a cut-out for the gold plated bail and a pour of light purple and pearl mica tinted epoxy completely encapsulates the bail and disc - making it a permanent part of the pendant. The sides of the finished pendant are polished to a smooth finish and the larger diameter bail will fit most chains without the need for additional mounting rings.

Durable and easy to maintain, these necklaces are made from 304 Stainless Steel that hold up well to the rigors of daily use with very little tarnish, and they are a perfect fit for John Galen Necklace Pendants, which come with oversize bails that fit this necklace without the use of an additional ring that can easily break.

METAL ALLERGIES NOTICE: 304 stainless steel and 316L surgical steel have extremely low Nickel levels and are often safe to wear even for individuals with a Nickel allergy to enjoy wearing occasionally. 304 stainless steel has 8% Nickel, compared to 10% in 316L Nickel, making it the safest of all stainless steel. 18ct Gold Plated Stainless Steel is even safer, but the gold can wear thin over time - exposing the stainless steel underneath. 304 stainless steel contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel and 74% iron.
