This STEAMPUNK Drop Spindle design stems from the use of a 1880's Swiss made white porcelain over copper pocket watch dial that has been specially prepared to apply this gorgeous dragon commercial art transfer. The design incorporates an antique gold balance wheel, a polished steel winding gear, and 26 Ruby AB color Swarovski crystals around the dial and inside gears/wheels - all bonded to the surface of the dial and coated with 2 thick layers of epoxy resin finish (approximately 3/32" thick).

The WHORL is made from a laser cut acrylic disc that I've edge milled and polished to soften the edges. The shaft is made from high carbon (spring) steel with a forged hook that has a 2-part powder coat paint finish applied for a beautiful look and feel. All components are assembled with an industrial 2-part epoxy glue. The bottom side of this top-whorl drop spindle has a large (1.75" dia.) vintage clock gear attached for added stability and rim weight.
